Smita Katakwar is Vice President of Software Engineering at Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. She and her team are responsible for defining technical strategies, allowing for the best in-class customer and employee experience at Wegmans. She is also responsible for Data & architecture groups to create a Future Ready Enterprise Architecture. Prior, Smita was Vice President of Product Management, Experience, Design and Engineering at BJ’s Wholesale Club. Previously to joining BJ’s, Smita held the position of Director of Innovation & Strategy at Sears. Smita attended Carnegie Mellon University, where she earned a master’s degree in information system management with highest distinction. Additionally, she owns a patent in home services technology. Smita and her husband recently relocated to Pittsford New York with their two children; together they are food enthusiasts and strongly advocate for work-life harmony.
